I followed some tips on this forum and used mixer to set switch to control gryo and three banks but I can't seem to get a negitive gryo number in the diagnostics tab. It does go up with 60 hl and down shows 60hf and center shows 0n but no negitive numbers? I made the mistake of trying it out thinking since it read hf it must be in stabil mode and she spun and would not go back to normal. I am not good enough to land a spinning copter and it was a 250 dollar affair. Help please? |

Let's put it like that: Yes, when you see 60 HF in the Diagnostic screen it means you are sending -60 so the Stabi Function you setup is active, and your tail gyro is operating in Heading Hold mode with gain of 60. So, if you were not seeing the behaviour you expected, it's probably about how you setted up the Spirit. What are you trying to achieve exactly? "Stabil mode" does not say much. And your phrase "she spun and would not go back to normal" does not mean much. Stabi functions have nothing to do with motor spinning or not, or "normal mode", whatever you personally mean with that. That said, also not clear to me how you set it up and why you need a center value with 0? Using a three way switch? So please explain what you are trying to achieve, attach your Spirit config file... and maybe read this guide about the DX9 with Spirit (post #16 is about setting up Rescue with DX9): http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=643997 |

I know I was a bit vague. I am trying to achieve banks with stabil normal, stabil scale and disabled. The way I had it set up was mixing gear> gyro -100%-100% offset 0 set to switch g In the diagnostic panel I was seeing 60HL for disabled, 0N for stabil scale and 60 HF for stabile normal. By spinning I mean I lost all tail authority and it was spinning in the air after I hit the switch to go to the stabil scale or stabil norm and would not switch back. Kinda scary! After the crash the tail boom had separated (goblin 500) and I did notice the tail rod end had come out of the control shaft. I figure this must have happened when the tail boom came off but maybe it is coincidence it came off and caused the tail spin and I did have the gryo set right? Another problem was start up, very violent and I have the gov setting to very slow and all the way down to 10. I have the hobby wing 100 platnium HV set to airplane and plan on trying heli, gov off next time. Thanks for your help! |

If you read the definitions the stability scale sends your heli into rate mode which means you jave to control the tail completely and if you didn't jave your heli setup correctly it would do just that. Spin around and around. So either you can setup your heli in rate mode where itll hold a hover without or very lil tail input or you could select another stabi mode that gives you a stabilization mode bit with hh instead of rate. |
