Graphic
=============
By the graphic in the new 2.0.0 UI, it *looks* like the unit is sitting on a a classic FBL pad. It *looks* like (Horizontal 0 deg) that it's a shot of the FBL, taken from the FRONT of the heli, looking back. Thus Horiz 0 deg looks like the FBL is mounted on the heli with the pins pointing towards the FRONT of the heli. Yet, the "arrow" points... where? rear? back?

The "arrow" above the unit. Is that the forward direction of the heli? The backward direction? Does it mean anything at all?

The graphic IMHO opinion, on it's own, in isolation, doesn't give me enough info to know what it means. OR: I'm interpreting it incorrectly. But that itself means it's confusing.

Actual Setup
=============
Also, secondly because a reset with my Futaba 14SG doesn't work. I have had to reverse two channels to get both the directions to work and the swash to respond to heli movement correctly.

Was this tested with a 14SG? Perhaps the 14SG is weird and odd.

I HAVE eventually got things to work, but only with this:
- Horizontal 180 + inverted

TX:
- Ele: Reversed
- Pit: Reversed

A stock config has everything in NORMAL. But I cannot get the swash to correct properly (when tilting heli) in this configuration. I've tried upgrading from 1.3.2, I've tried resetting using the wizard. I've tried a new model on the TX. All have similar confusion.

Yours in Reversal,

Neil

Hi,

imagine that the unit is sitting on a mounting pad and arrow is telling you where is the front of the model (direction where it usually flys in the air).
You can check manual for examples of the mounting positions. From these images it should be pretty clear how it is meant.
Inverted means it is upside down.

First from all your Diagnostic should match your real stick movement (especially directions). When it is correct, all settings in your transmitter are done and you do not have to change anything there from this point.

1) Ok. It'd be REALLY useful to make that arrow more obvious. That it means FRONT. Either a label, or a massive forward facing arrow.

2) Diagnostics were perfect. It ended up being that my servo were connected to wrong channels on the Spirit. Maybe I had these wrong in 1.3.x and just made up for it somehow (reversing, etc), but another thing that would have helped immensely would be to say (in BOLD) - pls dbl check your servo that your servos are plugged into the channels as per the General tab.

Having fixed the servo connection, and setup as Horiz 180 deg, it now works great.

1) Perfect - direction is described also in the Wizard by text, not just by diagram.
2) Yes, you can find this notice in the wizard and also after the update in the dialog box and also in the 2.0.0 announcement and also in the news.
Previously it was possible to connect CH1/CH3 in any way, now there is a strict connection else it will not work. So it can cause confusion.

Great it works now.

Everything is well explained in the PDF manual and the pop-up text. Unfortunately, lots of us miss it the first time around during setup. I am sure psychologists have a diagnosis for this phenomenon. Please consider using a helicopter silhouette instead of the current arrow in future updates to help those of us with more humble IQ's. ;)

BTW, 2.0.0 is an awesome update for what was already an exceptional FBL unit! :D

I've not the pro version, it runs very well with 1.32, never a trouble.
Today I update to 2.0, my hard desire is to broke it with an hammer. Nothing runs, all is on the contrary, there is no possibility to do anything and so I return to my 1.32.
All ok? No, now I've always an instable connection. The same pc, the same cable, the same unit that runs perfectly from the first version. Only that I now I can't setup the unit. Wonderful. :|
In the diagram I read in one that aileron servo is on right, in another one that is on left, I try in 2 way, but nothing. Now I stop it, because I'm very angry, tomorrow I'll try again.

Perhaps I need to read all the manual? Is the 2.0 so different from 1.32?

Sescot, it's very easy.

Just reset all the reverses in your TX, select correct Position and Swashplate, make sure you have the servos connected as on the swashplate picture, make sure the travels visually correspond in the Diagnostic screen (signal bar goes up when you give forward elevator, and right when you give right aileron and so on), then check compensations and reverse stuff in Servos tab if needed.

PM me in HF if you need some italian explanations ))))))))

Thank you very much, I made a mistake. I didn't try ALL the reverse in servo / reverse tab. :oops:
