Post subject:  What settings of Dual Rate and Expo?

Hello,

before buying the Spirit Pro I used the Microbeast. Can you tell me, what dual rate, expo and other Settings give a similar behavior like the Microbeast in flight style "Standard"?

I don't like any "bad surprises" during first flying the Spirit.

best regards

Wolfgang

Hello,

Spirit does not use any internal Expo so for the first flight you can use 20-30%. Dual Rate 100% (default on each channel).

It is preconfigured for beginners so it will react rather slowly. To make it fly the most important are correct sensor compensations.
It should fly similarly to Microbeast.

Then you can increase rotation rates in the Sensor tab so it can rotate as fast as you wish.

Hello,

thank you for your quick response. Then I will start with 25% expo.

I have BK DS-3001HV servos (@7.4V, 0.06 sev/60°, 5.8 kg cm) on the swash plate, which servo delay do you recommend.

You are welcome.
For cyclic servos there is no Delay parameter. There is Rudder Delay for the Rudder servo, but I dont know what rudder servo do you use.

Frequency on the cyclic can be configured to 200Hz.

It's the BK DS3005HV (@7.4V, 0.04 sec/60°, 3.5 kg cm).

The cyclic servos can run at 333Hz according to the spec.

Yes, but generally I don't recommend using 333Hz on the cyclic, some servos are then too hot.

You can set Rudder Delay between 0 - 5.

What is the recommended Hz for the BK3001HV with the following specifications...Sorry to change gears but it was kinda mentioned above.

BK Micro Servo
Model 3001HV
Operation Voltage: 6V – 8V
Weight: 20g (0.71 Oz)
Torque: 3.68 kg/cm (51.1 oz/in) @ 5V | 4.7 kg/cm (65.3 oz/in) @ 6V | 5.8 kg/cm (80.5 oz/in) @ 7.4V
Speed: 0.09 sec/60 @ 5V | 0.07 sec/60 @ 6V | 0.06 sec/60 @ 7.4V
Dimensions: 12x23x27 mm
Frequency: 1520us/333 hz
Gear Type: Metal
Motor Type: Coreless

Many manufacturers are stating that their servos are rated for 333Hz, but it is not optimal always.
There is very big difference when you use the servo in a glider and on the cyclic of the helicopter.

The problem is, that many FBL systems are not supporting such high frequency for cyclic.
So it is always good to check the temperature of all servos.

Fortunately today servos are better and better. But because we have experience with this brand and pilots that tested these or other servos in a demanding situations I have putted recommendation.
If you are beginner, even analog servos may survive 333Hz sometime. So it is always good to verify everything and not to be convinced just by a paper specifications.
