Up until now I have had my LHS set up my helis and I want to learn how to do it myself. I know u enter tuning mode on the spirit settings software and make sure the blades are at zero pitch on all axis's and the servo horns are horizontal to servos. Is that literally all you have to do as far as this aspect of the setup?

My friend, that's a big big question.

Can I suggest you hook up on Helifreak.com and start reading a bit?

Do you have anybody near you that can help you set it up?

No I don't. My LHS only specialize in ikon and beast x FBL's. I downloaded the program and manual. I'm sure I can figure it out. I would just feel a lot better if I had someone help me in person. The heli was used, but hardly ever flown. I have had it hooked up to my computer with the software to see if the awash was level. It needs minor adjustments. Will see how I make out over the weekend

We can help you as much as possible at least online. By carefully checking everything you will surely finish the setup.

Alternatively you can wait few days for the new firmware/software where setup process is significantly simplified. So you probably can't do anything wrong.

Yea what he said ^ when when when! Lol. I know the most important part, (atleast IMO) is to level the swash, ensure I have zero pitch and the servo horns are at 90 degrees on the servos. Unless I'm wrong which is possible. And after that, it's just experimenting with different settings until you get it tuned to where you like.

There are other important and critical settings:

- servo travel direction
- sensor direction in all three axes
- piro optimization
- geometry 6 degree tuning

These need to be set up correctly. Do not attempt to spool her up before this is done.

I guess I left the part out about the heli being used with everything already installed. It was already setup when I got it. I just want to double check everything before I spoil it up. I have checked the swash and the zero pitch. Both are a little off.

Ok, just spent about an hour and half going over this bird. Piro optimization had to be reversed. I read the manual for the spirit and it said that the head should act like a compass when turning it, which it does. I centered all the servos, with the swash plate level. Set up my rescue. Only thing now is to get it at zero pitch in the servo tuning menu. Is it my imagination that it sits pointing downward a bit on the skids. I would think that would throw the pitch off or am I wrong? Sorry to keep bugging u guys with this
