I have a brand new Gaui X5, nothing bent or broken, vibes all less than 10 on the analyser.
At low RPM (2000) and at high RPM (above 2300) the heli' is nice and stable. However at any RPM between I have a noticeable and fast cyclic wobble (no nodding - just the roll axis) in the hover.
The tail is rock solid and I do not loose any control it is just a steady frequency wobble.
The heli' is setup as best as mechanically perfect as I can get and has +/- 12 degrees of pitch and 10 degrees of cyclic as per the manual. I am using KBDD green dampers which are lubricated and blades are all balanced.
I have setup the Spirit system as per the manual and I have tried 60 all the way down to 40 gain without any noticeable difference in wobble. I have also lowered the frequency of the servo's and I have also tried different blade tightness from loose to tight without success.
I simply don't know what else I can do, can someone help?

Hi, you can try to enable Extended signal processing.

Also check, if your unit is mounted hard enough so it can't wobble.

Upcoming firmware will also introduce better low frequency vibration dampening so it could help a lot too in case it is caused by vibrations.

Thank you for your advice.
I tried enabling extended signal processing but this made no difference.
The helicopter is almost vibe free, no blurring or shaking of fins, legs etc and very little showing on the vibe analyser in any axis.
I have tried different mounting materials and currently using the 3M grey tape which is firm. I have even tried velcro strapping the unit down but this made no difference.
I just can't work out why at low and high RPM the thing is stable but has an obvious roll oscillation at medium RPM's.
I guess I'll just have to fly it at a high RPM and sacrifice flight time as the low RPM would make for more difficult aerobatics.

How old are your head dampeners?

You can also try to decrease governor gain in your ESC (if governor is enabled).

Thanks for some more ideas.
Head dampeners are brand new.
I am using the Hobbywing 100a v3 esc, governor does not have adjustable parameters however I have the same problem with or without the governor active.
I have tried different timings on the esc but they have made no difference either.
I experimented with the servo arm balls in different positions today to vary mechanical gain and adjusted the Spirit system and blades each time for proper geometry as well - no change.
The wierd thing is each time I try something I expect to see some difference but there is none, at low rpm or high rpm the heli is smooth and stable, between the two though cyclic wobbles in the roll axis.

Thanks for the update.

I have sent you private message with possible solution.

Thank you for the time and effort you have put into trying to fix my problem.
The latest update you sent me helped by narrowing the range at which the wobbles happen and I think that will just have to do for the moment as they aren't now in the range I want to use.
Although the heli' is quite vibe free I may try some more mechanical tinkering to see if I can get it perfect.

Cheers.

I've got the same wobble with my X5, brand new head dampers - perfect setup (via soko heli tool). I've had 100's of flights on a Bavarian Demon with no issues, but with the spirit I get lots of head wobble.

The wobble is greatly reduced when I go to 30% on the head gain, but I'm not sure that's ideal as the range other people are using it +60%.

I will be trying out the following next;
- move the ball links closer to the servo center
- tuning the tail FIRST before messing with the head - I haven't bothered to do much with the tail at this point, aka nothing at all.

What was the tip that you we're provided with in PM? You hint at mechanical setup?

Thanks.

It could solve cyclic oscillations. But wobbles after stick input is different issue.

You can download it here: http://spirit-system.com/dl/fw/spirit-fw-1.0.25.2.bin

After update you should still see version "1.0.25". You do not have to do anything more, just carefully test it.
