Im just about ready to set up the esc on my G380 a and am trying to figure out if I need to adjust it like other channels where its 100 and 100 and 50 @ midstick? Ill be using the hw gov for the time being and since the hw 100a v3 has a throttle lead, power lead, and a rpm lead do I need to use the throttle and power lead or will the throttle lead power my electronics? If this is the case which port would the extra power lead go into? If it matters im using kst215mg and ds5005hv @ 7.4v. |

If you do not plan to use Governor from the unit, you do not have to plug RPM lead anywhere. HobbyWing has two BEC outputs. One is integrated in the Throttle cable. For your helicopter one lead will be enough. Yes, you can do the calibration of your ESC - this should be mentioned in the manual of your ESC. |

Ok so ill calibrate the throttle channel like the others (how the wizard says to) to get it to 100 high and 100 low then start yp the esc w high stick, wait for beeps, then lower to calibrate the end points. Sound correct? |

I have this ESC with a Spirit, I am also using only the throttle/BEC cable for power (The Spirit BEC test passed without trouble). However, if you aren't using the Spirit gov, you have a few options (I'm not sure what RX you have so this may not make sense) 1) If you have a full RX (not satellites), you can run the BEC+Throttle cable to the RX, connect the RX to the Spirit however you want and not bother involving Spirit with the Throttle channel at all. 2) If you can't or don't want to do #1, then you need to enable the throttle channel on Spirit and do a two step calibration: 2a) Adjust your TX endpoints to Spirit. On this, you're adjusting the TX's throttle channel endpoints so the diagnostics page shows 0 at min throttle and 100 and max throttle. Spirit shows a 0-100 scale on the diagnostics page, not -100 to +100. 2b) Now, calibrate the HW esc to Spirit. When I did this with my HW 100a, I didn't have to change anything on Spirit at all. I just powered up the ESC with max throttle stick, heard two beeps, went to low stick, heard 6 beeps then a long beep (I'm running a 6S battery), and powered off the ESC. For calibration, It's done in two parts. 1) Adjust your TX throttle channel endpoints |

I will be using sats... do I still do it the way you explained? |

Yea, so do option #2 then. Run a single throttle with power cable from the ESC to Spirit. Then do 2a and 2b. If you did need power from the BEC on the HobbyWing ESC you could add the second power only cable from the ESC, but as ZeXx86 says, you shouldn't need it for this heli. Test with the BEC tester in the Spirit software to be sure. |

What do you mean by enable the throttle channel? Shouldn't it already be working so all I should have to do is calibrate it? Edit: Ok nm, I messed w the demo mode and when dsmx is selected it automatically assigns channel one to throttle so I should only have to calibrate that to 0-100 then do the esc calibration... sound right? |

Yea, I guess the sat config automatically selects it. Yes, that sounds right! |
