You can check this scheme:
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... E.BCSpirit

The RPM sensor should be connected in the "P" pin (red color)

Me again... I haven't wired up the Spirit gov yet, but I'm trying to get rpm info from my Talon 25 and it's not working correctly. I set up my headspeeds in RPM setting at 4000, 4500 & 5000, and the heli seemed to respond correctly, but my RPM screen on the Jeti followed the headspeed as it was spooling up, but maxed out at 2040 and stayed there regardless of the flight mode. I went back to the Spirit software and reduced the poles to 3 from 5 (six pole motor), and raised the Max Headspeed to 4000 (the highest it would go), and the RPMs on the Jeti went to about 3600 and stayed there regardless of the flight mode. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Am I right that you are using the RPM sensor right now?
If yes, do you see correct RPM in the Spirit Settings?

If you are trying to get RPM from Talon, there are certain limitations of what can be transmitted from the Talon - it is approx. 10 000 RPM from the motor (with no division of motor poles and gear ratio).
So it depends on what is your gear ratio?

Also what is your settings in the Talon?

Yes, I just last night installed the rpm sensor. I disabled the Talon gov and enabled the Spirit gov. Talon gov is set to 6 poles, 5500 kv, 10:1. Spirit is set to 3 poles (6/2), 10:1.

I am heading to the field now to test. Why is the Spirit governor MAX HEADSPEED only to 4000?? This little Oxy2 needs 4500 to 5000 rpms.

No luck. The heli works, but I have no idea what my headspeed is. I spool up and (both on my Jeti screen, and also in the Spirit Software RPM Sensor Tester) I see the headspeed increase up to 3400 rpms, then if I continue to increase the throttle, the headspeed increases but the rpm screens still say 3400. If I decrease throttle to below 3400, it seems to read correctly. My friend says I might need to adjust the Throttle Frequency, but I have not been able to find that information anywhere. I will contact Castle and see if this is what my problem is.

Am I supposed to be in Airplane mode for my helicopter? I've read where some people do this.

So, manually set up the throttle endpoints, and tried several combinations of attaching the rpm sensor wires to the motor wires and found that with One wire attached to the Red motor wire, and removing the power (+ & - in j plug on sensor), I was getting higher (than 3400) readings on the Jeti, and also getting the same readings in RPM Meter box under Current RPM. So this is just with wire from Red Motor to P in Spirit. Then, after turning the receiver off and on again, it didn't work, so I'm guessing my sensor is not good. I will buy a new one next week. So I disconnected the sensor completely and disabled the governor, cycle the power, thinking that I would get proper readings on the Jeti screen but it went back to reading properly from 0 to 3400, and then stayed at 3400 even while the motor continued to increase speed. One bad thing I noticed is that the sensor wire (white) of the Talon esc must have been rubbing on the motor because there is some insulation missing. The wire however looks intact, and no short. I peeled the remaining insulation away from the middle wire and got the same rpm result and nothing different. So I'm wondering if getting a new sensor is going to change anything? Seems to me that the sensor and the TELEM CC lead from the esc are separate and unconnected issues, no? Thank you for staying with me on this.

Tommorow I will check what is possible. We have Talon 25 and Oxy 2 here, so I will check the telemetry.
We have some sensors that are perfectly proven to work reliably, so you can take these. But maybe the sensor is OK and the problem is different.

Since next week there will be vacations we have lot of work before, but I will try to help you as much as possible.

Yes, I think that both Telem CC and RPM sensor issues are separete.

Thank you. I will try not to ask too much during vacation. But, things I can test when I get home tonight are:

Try Airplane mode?

Increase Spirit Sensing Divider to 6? (I read from you that the number of poles in the Spirit should be the same as in the esc, but that in Sensing Divider, the poles should be divided by 2. If on the esc I show 3 poles, the motor turns very slowly, so maybe I need to increase the pole count in Spirit?)

I have ordered a new Hobbywing RPM Sensor, so I can work on that issue later in the week. For now, I'd like to get the TELEM CC telemetry working so I know what my headspeed is.
