"The start of the unit needs a lot of time - 60/70 sec flashing"

This is very bad - unit should boot in about 5 seconds. I am afraid, but your unit is most probably defective if it takes longer than 10 seconds.

We are always checking each unit before shipping so each unit must work perfectly. It is passing few various tests so any failure like this is excluded.
Unfortunately this issue could happen when unit's pin is hitted by a strong static discharge (from finger). Symptoms are that the unit is strangely blinking with the Status LED during initialization, not smoothly pulsing.

In this case, it will be necessary to send it to us so we can examine the unit carefully. We will be able to find reason why it happened and of course if there will be something wrong, we will fix it under warranty and ship it back in 1 day.

But we are perfectly sure, that the unit was OK during shipping, but unfortunately even shipping process can lead to damage due to strong X-ray scannings, ultrasound devices, etc. In this case we will also fix it for free as you can't affect it.

Sorry for the problems, at least we have found the reason, why it can't work. The unit will not work correctly in other areas too if there is really such damage. If you can ship it to us, it can be fixed and back with you in one week.

Could you tell me, when you have observed for the first time, that the initialization takes so long?

Hi,

my steps at the beginning
- received the package -> opened it and checked all parts
- download the manual
- download and install the software on MacOS
- check, where throttle and sys should be
- put the ESC and the Sys on the unit
- Start the software -> Problem -> Unit not connected (Question - Demo Mode! -> Answer no)
- Download the USB driver and install on the MacOS inclusive reboot
- Start the software -> Problem -> Unit not connected (Question - Demo Mode! -> Answer no)
- Quit the software many times and start again -> no connection
- After 60/70 sec -> the unit was connected after a restart of the software

My thinking was, that the first initialization of the unit needs this time. After that, it will be fast.
So the problem of this 60/70 sec is from the beginning. If there is a log from the software on the machine, I can send you this log file.
Can it be, that the postal uses some scann systems, which damage the unit?

I'll prepare it and send it back to you.

PS: Why do your software call home? At the beginning i didn't block it, now it is blocked. Does this have any limitations, if i block it?

i forgot -> I read the manuals, before i use the products!
So i see your information "Never plug a connector for powering the unit to SYS or ELE/PIT/AIL ports." and take care about this.

That my "fingers" can damage the unit, is new for me.
We don't have carpets and only parquet and laminate - so there should not be a "static" and no "static discharge", if I plug in the ESC and the Sys plug.
Also the Spirit Pro is metal and every touch should unload any static, isn't it?

If a easy assembling of the plug can damage a unit, you should inform the user in your manual.

We don't know what is the problem, so I am only guessing. Maybe there is only some minor issue that can be fixed in few seconds.
Normally static discharges are not a problem, but at certain level it is a problem for each electronics if working with pins.
If you have no carpet then it will be probably different issue.

I believe that we will find the problem and fix it very quickly.

You can block the communication, it is used for checking for updates similarly as any other software and it will be only unable to read the data from our server.
