Hi,

I just setup the gov and have a weird problem. The heli doesn't want to spoolup if I release thr hold with a curve from 50 to 100%. It will only spoolup from 0 to 49%. If it runs I can raise the thr to 100%.

Hi,

I think that the problem is only in incorrect Throttle Range.
Default is 1100 - 1900. So I recommend to set default in the software.
Then recalibrate your ESC - this is very important. Do not forget to turn off the governor in the unit first.

Tnx,

I did reconfigure my yge to gov store because I didn't have my hobbywing rpm sensor. That messed the endpoints up. Reconfigured and all was ok.

I notice that on the bench 0 to 49 also gives fast bailout spoolup. For safety can this please be made so it only works after a normal spoolup? If you do this by accident it could end very badly. Also the possibility to keep the motor turn at 600rpm or so during auto bailout would be nice. Vbar does this to put less load on the maingair and make spoolup less voilent.

Actually why is the heli even spinning up at 1 to 49! If you fly with 90% and want to do a auto bailout, if you go to 25% it will not stop but continue spinning.

Oh,
now I am confused even more.

For using governor from the unit you have to use a RPM sensor. Some YGE ESCs are outputting RPM signal directly so you do not need external sensor.
When you enable Governor in the software, you have to always disable governor in the ESC.

To prevent fast spooling you can set slower spoolup in your ESC, but you should never use that low TC - there is no reason to use it.
In the manual you can find throttle ranges - 50%+ is to activate the governor, less you are driving motor with TC directly.
If you can't get direct control, it will be unusable on some helicopters - especially with combustion motor.

Regarding bailout you can set it already like you have described by configuring appropriate throttle curve. Our governor is prepared for it very well.

It is very simple, you have full control of the motor when TC is under 50%.
This mean, you can set RPMs for autorotation. This functionality is even necessary for some helicopters. With a different configuration you can set it in any way you can need.

Ow now I understand what you have done. I find that very dangerous personally. One mistake on the ground and you can rebuild your heli. 0 to 50 should be thr hold but when thr hold is released it should fast spoolup (bailout)

My yge is old and doesn't have a sensor ;)

What mistakes do you mean?
Normally it is not possible to damage anything if you will configure the governor and/or ESC properly.

Our governor is working very similarly to governors of the competition, you do not have to worry about anything.
But you really never should play with unknown and dangerous things without appropriate knowledge, especially with blades on.
For this reason, there are manuals so you can carefully and safely configure everything without a risk.

I can help you with any settings if you are unsure.

I was one of the first using the vbar gov and am very formiliar with them, and I can assure you its impossible to have a quick spoolup by accident. Skookum also. It will only engage 5 seconds in flight. No way to get a fast spoolup the first time by having a lower thr input than 50 like the spirit which is simply dangerous.

For Hobbywing autorotation bailout is also active only for configurable duration. After this period softstart occurred even if throttle is in "bailout range". I also prefer this implementation
