I just got a spirit for my Trex 500 DFC and I'm not sure how to choose the Receiver type.

My receiver is a Frsky X8R bound to my Taranis. Can I choose PPM and connect the Sbus Port on the X8R to the RUD port on the Spirit? Or do I choose PWM, and how do I connect the Rx to the Spirit? Or are both choices wrong and I have to select something else?

Many thanks in advance for your help.
Cheers

Hi

For the classic receiver connection you can use PWM.
For S-Bus connection (with S-Bus invertor) you can select Futaba S-Bus.

So if I use PWM how do I make the connections between my Rx and the Spirit unit?
On Taranis I have the following channel order:
Ch1 is Ail
Ch2 is Ele
Ch3 is Thr
Ch4 is Rud
Ch5 is Gyro gain

I suppose ch4 goes into the RUD port on the Spirit and Ch5 into Aux. But what about the other 3?

Correct
AIL (orange) /PIT (red)/ELE (brown) should be connected with CH1/CH6/CH2.
