Hey guys, I still can't believe I am actually here writing this, I'm still sad and disappointed for what I experienced earlier today. So I got my brand new Spirit GT last week, I have placed it on a TREX 600N, I carefully set everything up during the last few days with no rush, everything was good to go, except for the governor, which although was set I still had to check it with the engine running to see how it reacts. So today I was planning to maiden the bird, took all blades off, primed the engine, had to crank it quite a few times, and when it started I had a bit of hotstart, and right in the next second everything went silent: engine stopped, servos stopped working, receiver was still one, Align 2 in 1 BEC was on, but the blue light on the Spirit was off. Long story short the unit just kind of DIED all of a sudden. The FrSky RXSR was still receiving power from the unit and it was still communicating with the radio. So no maiden flight for me, and a dead unit. What gives??
I don't want to hear "did you plug power into SYS or ELE/PIT/AIL ports" question because I did not, I am quite obsessed by this stuff and always take my time when plugging in stuff. The unit was all set up and working before this episode, and I have spent some hours with it and the model on the bench without any issues. I also always label all the wires so I can easily identify them later on. Here is my setup: - Align 2 in 1 Voltage regulator RCE-B6T (barely used, gives 5.79V constantly) - Align DS610 servos - Align DS650 tail - Align DS620 throttle - FrSky RXSR rx with fport LBT firmware, paired with Radiomaster TX16S MAX, telemetry and integration enabled and working. - TT53 Redline engine. - 2S 1500Mah lipo.
My wiring: - ELE/PIT/AIL port - RPM yellow wire from magnetic sensor plugged into middle pin of this port - RUD - FrSky RXSR receiver - AUX1 - Throttle servo - AUX2 - BEC (5.79V) from RCE-B6T to - CH4 - Rudder servo - CH3 - Pitch servo - CH2 - Elevator servo - CH1- Aileron servo - CH0- has positive and negative leads feeding power to the RPM sensor.
As of now the unit has no reaction, no blue light, no red light, does not react to USB interface at SYS port. I have tried to recover the unit using the instructions provided in the "flashing failed" official page, just in case, but no dice, no lights from the unit, although power still passes through it and feeds the RXSR receiver. Please advise, thank you.
PM: I have a 10 years experience flying rc helis, I build my models methodically and have owned and worked with most of the known fbl systems on the market.
LE: when the unit turned off the rpm telemetry froze at about 570 rpm (I had gear ratio set at 8.5 (170÷20), max rpm set to 2000. The heli previously had a Brain 2 unit on it and all the electronis were working ok, just as they did on the bench with the Spirit.
