My preference would be to send the unit to you. It does not behave like my other red spirit. When I plug in the blue light immediately goes out. With my other good unit the blue light stays on, on the usb interface. Lastly the unit gets very warm, and my other good unit does not get very warm. I think there are enough signs that there is something not right with this unit.

You are right, this is definitively not OK.
But I am afraid the issue is not result of updating. But I can't tell you what is wrong at this point, we will see. I am sure it will work well soon again.
