Hi there,

I have a strange issue about my spirit gov.
You may know I was using a diy gov sensor, and when this issue appeared I bought a brand new Align gov sensor and installed.

Here is my problem;
I set the max head speed to 2500 rpm at Spirit Settings.
Head speed goes to maximum speed that engine can achieve after governor engages.

I connect a computer via wifi module while hovering. Requested headspeed is lower than actual speed. It can be seen in realtime, and via telemetry.
Telemetry and spirit settings head speeds are nearly same. The governor should decrease actual headspeed to the desired speed but it doesnt.

Isn't it strange ? :)

Hi,

can you tell me when the problem started to occur?
From your description it look like it started to happen after a while, am I right?

Usually the problem is in the Throttle servo travel where it does not match real carburator travel. Maybe servo arm just moved.
Otherwise it occur when mixture is too poor. Then even if servo throttle goes down the headspeed goes up on its own. So making it more rich can solve the problem.

Hi,

Thanks for replying,
I'm pretty sure that mixture is well, I always prefer to stay at safe side and set it to a little bit rich.
The problem started after I replace my muffler with RJX 90 muffler, I have no idea whether it's related with exhaust system or not.
The exhaust has same connection type to engine with Hatori, I fly without govenor and it flies well at approx 2100 rpms with a V-curve at throttle curve settings, but when I switch to another bank to engage the governor, the rpm increases until engine's max.
It feels like the throttle servo works wrong direction to open carburator lever.
I set 2500rpm for max headspeed and use a flat throttle curve at something like 82-83%s.
I'm going to check throttle servo movement this weekend.
I've set throttle servo travel limits according to carburator's physical limits, btw.

You are welcome.
Did you tried to engage Governor already at the ground?

This mean not to engage when flying but from idle TC. So that the Governor is engaged from the beginning.

Good advice,

I'm going to give it a try definitely at weekend.

Thanks.
