Hello,
Yes, its exactly like you described it.
If you are using the F:stabi funktion with a channel you need to have this channel active to activate the selected "function" at the "stabi" tab. It doesnt matter if this is rescue or coax mode or what ever you select there! If you are using gyro channel, of course this has to be negative to activate the special function.
So as an example what i have done:
Bank 0: Rescue
Bank 1: Rescue (could be deactivated, because dont use the special tab in this bank)
Bank 2: Stabilisation (scale)
In my TX i have programmed the following things:
1) Momentary switch for rescue channel
2) A three pos switch (A) for heading hold or rate mode
3) A three pos switch (B) for bank switching
In addition i have set various mixes for bank and rescue channel.
1) Rescue button
always activates rescue channel and switches
always to bank 0. Regardless of the other switches (A and B) (This way i can have rescue even if i am flying with stabi mode, shit can happen there too.
)
2) If Switch (A) is set to rate mode, i activate rescue channel and switch to bank 2. Regardless of switch (B) (This way i have the stabi scale mode active including tail rate mode). If i would hit rescue button, see point 1, i would get rescue.
3) If only Switch (B) is used i can fly in normal 3D mode, but with various settings (agility, gov. etc.). I am also able to use bank 2, because i dont activate rescue channel and therefore this function is deactivated and i can fly normal. If i hit rescue button, see point 1.
I hope this will help you a bit and show you, how you can play with these channels and get a maximum of flexebility.
Be careful at testing these things, so you dont mess up!
