As stated in the software you can install the FBL in the upright position facing forward or backward, is there a way to put it facing sideways? i mean i want the plugs to be facing left side of the heli??

Yes,

this is the Vertical position. Please check the photo in the manual:

There is example of one Vertical mounting position.
