I am using a single spektrum sat. The unit on my 6hv is also using dual spektrum says does not have this problem. It flies beautifully.
The bad unit is on a small heli. I really don't want to put a full size rx on it. And I frankly don't trust it anymore. I'd rather just get it fixed.
I got this unit from esprit models. Should I return it to them?
Should I try a different satellite?

It would be great if you can swap the units so then we can be sure if there is really problem or not.
I though to try receiver just for test.

I don't have a full size rx to test with. I don't have another satellite either.
The 6HVU is only a couple weeks old and I just got it tuned over the weekend. I'm not interested in benching it just to test a totally different unit.
I will try with lower voltage this evening and report back.

For tonight's tests I power up the unit using a 4 AA size alkaline cells in series. I measured at 6.05 volts with my multi-meter.
The results where the same as before. Really bad sensor drift immediately after the first start up and rapidly reached 80, -80, 0.
I removed power, waited a few minutes, then powered up without the sat receiver connected at all. There was still some drift, but it was much slower. The initial sensor readings where 2, 0, -2. After 5 minutes the readings where 5, 0, -2. The readings changed when I moved the air-frame and returned to 5, 0, -2.
The observed drift without the sat connected proves the issue is with the FBL unit.

Thank you very much for your investigation!
It is really bad and you should get new unit/repair. Most probably there is some overheating problem of the voltage regulator, since we are perfectly sure that any sensor can't drift when shipped from us. Abnormal heat from the regulator is causing then this drift.

So should I talk to Jason at Esprit or send it to you?

Yes, this is correct. If you are buying goods from us, you can send the units directly. But if it is not a problem for Esprit, we will accept your unit too, yet it will be more expensive for you probably.
