I have been trying to speed up the cyclic rotation on my Oxy3 and Gaui X3. They both are flying well, but each seems to roll in the Aileron direction slower than I would like. I have played with the Rotation speed settings and have these in the 11-13 range now. Today I changed the 100% in the D/R area of the TX up to 110% and this seemed to make a much more noticeable change.

I'm not a 3D type pilot by any means, but I'm improving and inverted (or trying to be) during most of my sessions.

I have my Expo in DR @ 0% for the Oxy and 10% for the X3.

Should I leave the D/R at the 100% and continue increasing the Spirit's Rotational Speed or increase the "throw" I think by making the 100% in the DR higher? This second option seems attractive since I could make the Elev and Aile values different - possibly make rolls faster and more axial while flips are nearly fast enough @ 100%.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Hello,

changing Rotation speed should make much bigger difference than changing Dual Rate from 100 to 110% normally.
Using 110% should be still fine but I dont recommend to go over 115%. I recommend to leave it at 100% and change the Rotation rate.

Maybe the settings were not saved. Change from for example 8 to 11 must be very visible and enough for the most 3D pilots.

If this is not visible then maybe Aileron / Elevator Range is too low to achieve fast rotations - defined limits are limiting it mechanically. But in that case also D/R would not maky any difference.

I do not recommend to go over 12 if you are not really experienced 3D pilot. It should be very fast with this value.

Thanks for the suggestions. Someone on HF suggested increased cyclic ring in the software. When I increase this it starts to warn about being to high. Is that a critical warning?

Is moving the ring higher what you are describing in your third paragraph?

Yes, that is the same thing. It might be not an issue. The higher the value, the higher probability for boom strike. Angle between 10 - 12° should be enough for the most pilots.

Old tread but for anyone reading this, don't go over 12° for cyclic ring on gaui x3 with 360 blades. If you do, theres a big risk you'll chop off your tail during rescue, like I did

I use 10° with 380 blades.
