Hi there,
SPirit Manual instructions are a little unclear.
I am setting up a Trex 700E DFC that I bought from a friend of mine. I plan on using a dedicated 2s battery for the servos.
I am using a Spirit Pro and a Phoenix ICE2 HV ESC with a battery circuit.
According to the Spirit Pro wiring diagram (attached here)
The ESC has a three wire lead that I plug into the AUX2 port.
The two wire lead that comes out of the battery circuit is where I am confused. The wiring diagram shows plugging the BEC into RUD (marked as optional), or AUX2 (marked as optional). The instructions in the spirit manual also says:
"Connection to a BEC is optional. If the model is powered by an external BEC, this must be connected to the RUD port. Also the power lead from the ESCs internal BEC must be disconnected."
Question 1: Do I plug the receiver battery into RUD or AUX2? Question 2: Do I remove the red wire from the three wire lead that goes from the ESC to the AUX1 port?
THanks Jim

Hello,
you did not specified what receiver you would like to use.
You can connect external bec at the AUX2 and CH0 ports.
Red wire can be connected when the ESC has no internal BEC.
If it is DSM2/X ESC has to be connected at the RUD port.

I thought I had mentioned that I am using DSMX (that was the diagram I used in my question).
So Rudder port is the one I will use, and I will disable the red wire on the ESC since it does have internal BEC.
Why in the DSMX wiring diagram does it show RUD and AUX2 as both optional. That is what confused me.

It is optional because the most ESCs have internal BEC. So it is not required to connect anything at the RUD and AUX2 ports in these cases.

Following up on prior thread.
Spirit Pro (new) DSMX - Spektrum radio Castle ICE 120HV ESC Separate Battery for servos
Receiver Battery is plugged into RUD port (from your prior recommendation) Spirit Pro powers up just fine and all servos are working
ESC lead is plugged into AUX1 (from prior recommendation) Red wire from ESC to AUX1 is removed (from prior recommendation)
Main flight battery is plugged into to ESC and normal initialization happens as expected.
When I advance the throttle, no power is going to the motor.
Any further advice would be welcomed as to how I can troubleshoot the problem
thanks

Please disregard last question. I spoke to the folks at Castle, and they provided the information I needed.
Thanks Jim
