Post subject:  ESC shutdown

Hello, it has already happened to me 2 times that in flight I had a total shutdown of the motor/esc connected to the Spirit, while the servos worked perfectly.
Turning the system off and on again everything runs smoothly
The esc is oversized as amperage.
Everything has always happened with almost charged batteries and a model that flew close to me.My configuration is with Spektrum satellite, have you had other instances of signal blockage at the esc?
Thanks

Hello,

if signal goes out of range, the ESC could shut it down. It could also shutdown it due to various reasons such as undervoltage, overcurrent, high temperature, motor connection failure. It look like ESC protection of some sort otherwise it would not stop completely until re-power.

If it is the first case, then it should be enough to set TC to 0 - 100% and check what will happen with 100%.
Other failures may be logged in your ESC or it could beep somehow when the problem happen. From this you can find what is wrong.

Thanks ZeXX86, I exclude the first problems (overvoltage, overcurrent, high temperature, motor connection failure) because I checked all this for the first time.
The problem has always occurred at half throttle, can it be a Spirit-Esc compatibility problem? The esc is an Aeolian XP-80A.

We have not found any compatibility issue with any ESC, But I guess that this ESC is not used too widely, so we can't exclude it completely. But the chance is very small - there are not too many technical reasons why it would not work, especially when it is working and then stop.
Was this ESC flown previously or the setup is new?

It is the first time that I use it so I can not rule out a random defect of the esc.
I could try it with a standard receiver, but I'm worried about the model  I wouldn't want to make another hole.
At this point I get another new esc and I hope..........

Ah, maybe some motor settings could be responsible too. For example timing and frequency can make a big change and with incorrect values it may work wrong. But by default the most ESCs are working well. But if motor is somehow specific, it could fail.
