Isn't better connect slave direct to Spirit?

Regarding your previous diagram I would just yet another cable between unit and RX for carrying current (e.g. ELEV to RUD)

TomasN: Since master is connected to the receiver it is better to balance the load of both cables. So I recommend to connect either both to the receiver or both to the unit (which is not possible without Y-cable here).

Hi ZeXx86, can you explain why its better to run both the Master & Slave out of the JIVE to either the JR RX or Spirit and not to split them? Is there a technical reason?

Hi,

yes. If there are a bigger currents in the "circuit", both cables from the BEC should be loaded equally to withstand the high current.
If you will connect master and slave separately and then connect there a line between them, then there will be even a ground loop, which is not good for all the electronics. If the currents are small, then it is not so important.
Regarding balancing - each cable has some resistance, so when you add there something additional (a cable) a shorter path will be heated/loaded more.

Well, normally it will work with any kind of connection. But as you will start to fly 3D strange things could happen. Fortunately MKS servos are very good, but there are servos that will induce very high currents.

OK, thanks for the explanation. I'll only be flying scale, but its possible someone who knows better than me will try and do 3D while testing it ;)
With that said, here's the final connection diagram. Thank you again for all your help!!!

Great. You are welcome.

Now it is looking clean with no strange things.

Now to the Spirit Setup. I updated the firmware to the latest and then ran the Setup Wizard. Based on the wiring we determined, which Receiver type do I choose?

EDIT: After going thru the steps of the Setup Wizard, the program changed the Receiver Type for me and made me reboot the unit. Now I'm stuck on Diagnostic Panel and no servos move when I move the sticks, however if I move the heli the servos move... What did I do wrong?

Hi

Did you selected SUMD/SRXL in the setup wizard?
Do not forget to set X-bus mode B in your radio.

Thank you for the quick response - Yes to both of your questions.
I do not have a wire connected to the XBUS connector on the receiver to the Spirit... it's wired exactly as the diagram shows... The green wire goes from ELEV(RX) to AUX(SPIRIT) and the Cyan wire goes from AUX1(RX) to RUD(SPIRIT)
