I have a pair of Spirit micro's arriving in a few days. I was planning to use them with 4649t receivers and with an iX12 so I'll certainly report my experience as soon as I receive them.

hi
You dont need any satellit(spm4650T),i have used the AR6610T alone and frames losses is only ca 20/
6min flight.
the spec says up to100 frames losses/min is normal,if you see holds in flightlog then check the antennas.
Just make sure that the last 4cm of antennas are abaout ca 10cm away from carbon materials.

I with the dx8gen2 and the spm4649t, never a problem.on Oxy3 and on My drone
now with the ix12 the same. the problem, if anything, is in the Spektrum Integration on the ix12 that works badly. it is not the fault of the spm4649t. obviously the xlsr protocol is new and is better 4650 and 4651.

Received another 4650 today and tested then being connected in parallel.

Tomas had mentioned "in srxl2 protocol this is described and designed for this purpose".

However, it can't be done. Spirit acts as though it doesn't have connection to anything. Remove one of them, restart and everything works fine. So can scratch that idea, lol.

So the only way to be able to run multiples of the 4650 or 4651t would have to be implemented in a firmware update that would allow the sat ports on the side/sides of the units to also communicate with the srxl2 protocol along with the AIL pin.

Guess will just have to wait to see if that can be implemented to fly the larger helis or continue dealing with not having access to the integration :(

Setup a micro with a 4649T today. I am using an iX12 with the latest firmware.(1.13.07).
I was always able to access the Spirit menu via text gen. However before trying to access it, it often requires me to perform a flight data reset to get the data to display. This is the same behavior required with my Ikon micro - so probably the transmitter and not a Spirit issue.
However the menu interface is slower to respond and has some cutoff characters at times with the Spirit. This doesn't happen with my Ikon micro. However my Ikon is connected via an SPM4650/SRXL2. The Spirit is connected via the 4649T.

I am wondering if the parameters could be updated when the bank is changed. So if I was to select a specific value I can then toggle the bank from the transmitter to see each of the 3 programmed values. The bank number should be displayed at the top of the screen at all times(this is how my Ikon micro works). It makes it much quicker to compare and adjust the same parameter for each of the 3 flight modes.

Interesting, Spektrum has said you should not use more then one 4650 or 4651 at the same time because both will be trying to send back telemetry data. They recommend only a single receiver should transmit data back, additional receivers should be satellites only so as not to confuse the transmitter(and possibly jam each other).

It does appear there is an issue with my original issue of using the 4649t with the ix12, as well as others experiencing it as well. I'd be okay with having to perform a function like rest flight data for it to work, if that was the only issue, but it's not. For me I've done these things and it's hit or miss, so there's definitely something going on.

As for what you're saying with the bank selection displaying, im sure that would have to be implemented with a firmware update.

TheSteve

That's basically exactly what's most likely happening when they are connected then. I tested to make sure based on Tomas's suggestion and now we know for sure that it can't be done.

Spektrum kinda screwed the pooch so to speak with the srxl2 stuff it seems like though. Essentially forcing the use of an actual receiver and the use of the 4650 or 4651t if using them on larger aircraft and the only reason I went back to spektrum was for the use of integration and the ability to just use sats + 4949t :/

I wanted to add there was a firmware update a number of years ago for the SPM4649T. Spektrum claims it was only for a voltage measurement issue but you can never be sure with them. All of my 4649T's have been updated.

I did try entering programming via text gen many times and it did always work for me and I am able to change values and save them successfully. So for me it does seem quite usable, but not perfect.

It would certainly require a firmware update to display the transmitter selected bank # and value during text gen programming, hopefully it is something Spirit considers adding.
