Post subject:  Unable to set Geo-fence points and RTH point

I am using a Geolink with a Spirit Pro on a Trex 450 Pro clone. I am using a Horus X10S and OpenTX. I have calibrated the compass successfully.
I am engaging Geo-fence and Altitude Limit through channel 9. With the switch SB at On (1) the aid page shows that both are active. With switch SB at On (2) the channels page confirms that the channel is at -100%.
I am engaging Return To Home and Altitude Limit through channel 10. With the switch SC at On (1) the aid page shows that it is active. With switch SC at On (2) the channels page confirms that the channel is at -100%.

I tried to program the Geo-fence as follows:
a) Switch on with heli on Throttle Hold, and wait for GeoLink to sync with satellites. The blue light comes on at 50+ seconds.
b) Walk to first Geo-fence corner, put heli down and wait for a few seconds. Blue light remains steady.
c) Move switch SB to On (2) -100% for at least 2 seconds. There is no response from the Geolink blue light, but the swash twitches slightly.
d) Walk to the opposite Geo-fence corner, and repeat. Again no response on the blue light.

Similar results with Return to Home.

With the Geolink switches off, I tried to take off, but the heli tipped over with no cyclic input.

The manual states that it will not work if model is flying or if GNSS signal is very weak. At home during setup I had 7-10 satellites. I fly about 1.5km from home.

When I check the Map tab, it says both Geo-fence and RTH are configured.

What could be the problem?

Lothar

I have exactly the same problem, I have assigned a switch to set a return to home home position, the led goes solid as expected but the swash twitches for some reason and the home position doesn't change.

Further information:
- the heli was flying well with the Spirit Pro prior to the Geolink installation
- I tried the Geo-fence setpoint setting at home as well, with the same result.

The Blue Led does NOT flash you need to watch the Red Led on the Spirit !!

For RTH you would use a 3 position switch. Off, RTH, and program location.

Have you verified all 3 positions work as expected? Under geo-link and then aid
Activate the switch all 3 position. You should see red text telling you what it’s doing when you activate the switch.

The visual cues on the heli. Wait for the heli to initialize and the blue light to stay solid blue. Now program the location for RTH you should see the red light on the Spirit go out. The swash will drop. When programming completes the red light turns back on and and the awash goes back up. Now turn RTH off.

Lift off fly a short distance away and activate RTH. The heli should return to where to programmed the location. One warning if you have ANY servos near the gps puck RTH will not work correctly. It will just fly away randomly. The magnets in the servo are strong enough to screw with the compass. Make sure you maintained proper distance.

Success! I was watching the blue Geolink LED, not the red Spirit LED! My Spirit Pro is mounted on the side of the heli, so the recessed LED is difficult to see.

May I suggest improvements to the Manual:
Sections 4.3 and 6.3: Replace 'At this period Status LED of the unit' with 'At this period the red Status LED of the Spirit unit'

Great, we have updated the manual according your recommendation.

I believe that is why they also included the swash bump. After you figure it out you no longer look for the red LED and pay attention to the swash. It’s easier to see at a distance. They did a good job with the visual cues I think. But did need a little better explanation in the manual.
