Post subject:  Spektrum and Hobbywing/Yep intergration

Hi,

Tried reading through some pages but am still a bit confused. Since my last try with my helis I havent done much but I got a DX9 from a buddy. So question is what exactly do I need to get intergration working for spektrum and hobbywing and yep. What cables etc.
I have a HW100 V3 esc and spirit pro on one heli(Logo550sx). One the other heli (G380) I have normal spirit with a yep100 lv (This only has one cable from the esc, not sure if there is a way to get telemetry, I do program it with the YGE card and it works on just that one cable.)
I know I need the serial quad rx with telem, some sats was thinking 2 for the 550 and 1 for the 380. On the subject of sats are the lemon diversity ones any better than the original spektrum ones? Also I intend purchasing the geolink modules, will get one first for the 550 and later one for the g380.

Thanks in Advance for any advice/help.

Hi,

sadly both HobbyWing Platinum V3 and YEP does not support the ESC telemetry feature. On the other you can get at least RPM reading from both.

You will need just SPM4649T receiver + Jeti integration cable.
Since SPM4649T is acting as receiver (better than a Spektrum satellite) you might need just one satellite for Logo 550SX. This will make it also easier.

We always recommend original receivers.

Cool... again thanks for the awesome support. So i will get RPM for the HW? for the G380 I wont need a SAT?

Thanks

Yes, you are right.

Of course it would be safer to have satellite on both, but it depends on if you prefer light model for 3D or flying further.

Awesome thanks. Also I see when using the geolink there is a spektrum multi adapter. Also will I need a telem uni cable for the HW esc.
Can i get basic RPM etc from the YEP ESC?

You do not need Spektrum Multi Adapter. This just depends on how many Satellite ports are used.
GeoLink will take one, each Spektrum satellite as well.

Spirit Pro has 2 native ports, Spirit one.

So it depends on what is connected.

As far as I know it is not possible with YEP. But maybe the latest version has support for it.

Ok so on the HW I'm guessing the rpm data will come across on the Gov wire. The yep I got is old, very old maybe 6 yrs old. One last question will I be able to make a lead to rx's volt sense port for batt voltage? Or will this be used for something else?

The RX has support for voltage measurement, but not for 6S.
It is good for measuring just one cell or BEC voltage.

Thanks again for the response. I read up in the meantime on the spektrum site it says vbat can read up to 25.2v

Do u think it's not safe?

Ah, in that case it should be just fine for 6S.
As far as I know the older versions were unable to sense that high voltage.

So it is OK.
