My RPM display shows proper rpms until I get to about 3403. Then it stays on 3403 until I lower the throttle. I've updated my Spirit software, uSpirit firmware, copied the .bin file to my DS16, updated my CastleLink software, Talon 25 firmware all of which I thought would enable me to get up to 8,000 rpms (drparker on helifreak says his works fine), but still it only goes to 3403. Any ideas? I AutoScanned the sensors in Sensor/Logging Setup on DS16, and the Temp shows as it should (can I change this readout to degrees Farenheit?). Is there some other control I need to adjust?

Oxy2, 1611 motor, DS16, R3 RSW to uSpirit via ExBus, Talon 25 with Telem cable from throttle wire to Aux on uSpirit. I have the uSpirit governor turned off and am using the Talon 25 governor at 4200, 4500 & 4800 rpms.

Thank you for your help!

Hello,

I am afraid, but this is limitation of the Castle Link Live protocol.

You can check documentation of the protocol here:
https://dzf8vqv24eqhg.cloudfront.net/us ... 221536-537

There you can see that maximum transmitted RPM is 100 000 RPM. This mean that to get your RPM it has to be divided by motor poles / 2 and by gear ratio. The only way to bypass this is to force the Castle ESC to send head speed RPM directly. But I am not aware if this is actually possible. You would need to set there Gear Ratio and Motor Poles for sure.

Interesting. Then I can't figure out how drparker is able to do it. Very strange! But thank you for your reply.

If your ESC would have a cable for external governor (RPM) then it would work. Higher models of Castle ESCs have this lead so then it is not a problem.

If I switched to CC Edge Lite 50amp. I think I could get Mah via telemetry and have a dedicated RPM signal.

Would this work, Edge to uSpirit via Telem CC cable to Aux. Jet R3 to uSpirit via Jeti integration cable going to Rud and pin A. If I took the RPM out from Edge and ran to P on the same connector as the R3. would this give me full integration, telemetry with Voltage, current, mah and RPM without the speed limit of livelink?

Yes, with Talon Edge 50 it will work.
