Post subject:  Odd Rudder Servo (Lack of) Behavior?

Hi all,

I'm a new spirit user switching after many years using Ikon. I'm about halfway through setting everything up for a new Oxy 4 build, and am thoroughly confused by the behavior of my tail servo. For cyclics I'm running 3 brand new Lynx DS-215s and I pulled a KDS N320T off the tail of an old Chase 360.

Running through servo centering, the cyclics work just fine, but the N320T does not respond at all to centering. In the tail servo setup panel, moving the sliders to adjust the limits causes the servo to react a bit erratically: moving the left limit works to some degree and after switching to the right limit, the servo jumps and then does nothing.
After fiddling with the limits the tail servo responds to inputs but only sluggishly moves through half the expected travel range.

I've used this servo for quite awhile with no problems on the Ikon and even plugged it back into an Ikon and ran through the setup to verify its actually working the way it should. I've seen behavior like this before when you get the frequency wrong, but I'm using the recommended 1520us/333hz settings on both Ikon and Spirit.

I tried plugging in one of the DS-215s into the rudder port, and that one worked flawlessly... any ideas what i'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Hi,

according specs this servo require 760us centering pulse, not 1520us.

Thanks for the reply!

Could you let me know where you found that info? The only specs i was able to find were listed on the KDSUSA website: http://www.kdsmodelsusa.com/Rudder-Serv ... -n320t.htm

This lists a working frequency of 1520us/330hz. Is this different from a centering frequency?
Sorry if i'm being obtuse here :D

You are welcome. It look like they dont know what the pulse is :)
Many other stores have listed it as 760us and 333Hz.
