Post subject:  RX-V alarming with Spektrum 4649T

Hi,
after using the Spirit in most of my Helis with "Standard or 6600T Receivers" i wanted to try the integration with an 4649T. Everything works really fine - great work!
The only thing i could not get to work is showing the RX-V in Telemetry so that i can set an Alarm (needed because i use caps as BEC-support). I use a Kontronik Kosmik and it shows under "ESC" all data as expected (also BEC-Voltage) but i can´t set an alarm in this menu. So, is there any solution to show the RX-Voltage in a different menu (RPM ect.) where i can set an alarm?

Thanks and regards

I have the same problem with my 4649T and DX8 gen 2.
To the best of my knowledge, it's a problem with the Spektrum devices. I called Horizon Hobbies and they replicated the same problem (no RX voltage display) with a DX8 and 4649T of their own.
I've been waiting (with numerous call backs) for a solution from them, but so far nothing.

Thanks for the reply Chris - OK, let´s hope Spektrum sorts this out pretty soon..

Yes, I hope so. I was wanting to use a BEC and the R2 buffer for backup, but as you said, we need the rx voltage for this to work!
If it's not resolved soon, I may use an A123 LiFe rx pack instead, for reliability.
If I get this resolved, I'll post back here ;).

Hi,

thank you for kind words!

You can solve it right now by connecting the voltage input of the SPM4649T receiver to the BEC. The input is built for this purpose so you can read the voltage you wish.

I tap my volt senor in right at the receiver where I extend the wire. Check this post for my pics:

Thanks, i already thought of that possibility but it was not displaying anything on first try (when i connected an external voltage to the sensor...). But maybe i was to "slow", i found out that the voltage has to be there on power-up otherwise the port will be used as lap-timer. I will try again with the same solution as trey1 posted above

Great news!

I updated all components to the latest SW: 4649T (1.1.9), Spirit (2.4.4), DX9 (1.21) and used the second input of the receiver as mentioned above by treys1.
-> everything is working now, i have ESC-telemetry in "ESC", BEC Voltage is shown and i can set an alarm and "Capacity used" is shown in correct menu (Alarming should be possible here as well). Thank you very much - i think this is the best solution with lowest effort in all of my setups :-)

Hi b-bird,
Just for clarification, your saying you get a voltage reading under 'RX ' (as opposed to 'Bec'?
I'm now getting a voltage reading under the Bec, even though I'm using an RX pack (no Bec with the CC160). If I have use the extra input (lap/v), I get 0.0V under RX
I'm confused over RX vs Bec and where the voltage is actually being measured.
