Hello
Today I had a very strange interference with my TREX 450.
When starting the main rotor, I noticed that the tail rotor did not respond to control inputs, also the helicopter did not respond to throttle inputs. The rotor turned in the lower speed range and did not start up to normal rotation.
This took perhaps 3 or 4 seconds, then the engine turned up, responded to throttle input and also the tail rotor worked normally.
This happened in flight phase 1 of my transmitter, where I have set a normal gas diagonal.
I then switched to Flight Phase 2 in the transmitter, where a gas straight with 85% is set. The engine turned up easily (throttle / pitch lever remained in the middle of the stick). The tail rotor also worked perfectly.
When I then switched back to flight phase 1 with gas diagonal, the engine does not even begin to react with a speed reduction, this was only with a delay of 3 or 4 seconds.
With a further delay of a few seconds, he then drove down to a very low speed, the tail rotor had no function again, it then went back up and ran on, although I then put the throttle stick in the zero position. The engine then switched off again with a delay of 4 to 5 seconds.

Does anyone of you have any idea why that might be?
My only idea would be a controller defect. At the moment I do not dare to fly anymore.
My configuration:
Trex 450 SE (conversion to Flybarless)
FBL Spirit Pro
ESC Align 50A RCE-BL50

Thanks for all the answers, best regards and a happy new year
Roland

Hello,

please send all details about the helicopter including your settings of the unit.
It looks like the receiver connection is not good. But you have not written what receiver and transmitter you are using or when the ESC is connected.

Did you checked the flight log in the unit when it happened?

Thank you

Hello Tomas,

thank You very much for fast response.
My transmitter is a Graupner MZ 24, my receiver a graupner GR16.

Unfortunatly I didn´t look into the log (stuoid mistake).

How can I send You the settings (I think, it´s a -4ds file)?

Thank you.
Can you please send all the details about the receiver wiring, used sensors (if any), used servos, ESC configuration (governor/curves), .. ?

You can just attach the settings here (4ds file).

The receiver is programmed to SumSignal (SUMDOF12), the servos are Savöx SH 0263MG (Swashplate) and Savöx SH 0264MG (Tailrotor).
I use in the Spirit only one Bank, in the receiver two banks with diagonal throttle and straight throttle 85%.
Governor is not aktivated (Not in Spirit Unit and not in the ESC).

I´m using no sensors.

Hello Tomas,

I think, Your guess about an issue with receiver connection was right. Yesterday I changed the locations of receiver and ESC (receiver was very near by thr engine) and also changed the wiring of the antenna cables. Then I made a couple of tests on the ground, to test the connenction. All seemed o.k., the day before the dropouts of gas and tailrotor steering were frequently at least two or three times per akku.
After that I made three flights on our flightfield (quite alone to lower any risk) , no dropouts or conspicuity neither of the receiver nor of the transmitter.
I have to concede too, that my wiring before the changes were not well done.

Thanks a lot for efforts, especially for Your tip with receiver connection.

With best regards
Roland

Hello Roland,

very well! Thank you for the message.

Settings are looking good, except Geometry 6° value is probably too high. But it is hard to say, it depends on servo arms and rotor head.

I recommend to use hot glue to secure all connections to make sure that the wiring will be always correct.
