Hello,

I try to build up my first bigger heli (Trex 550X) and I want to use a Spirit Pro FBL.
Now I read in the Manual, that it is recommended to use a dual power supply.
In my 550X kit is included an Align RCE bl 100A ESC/Bec, which I want to use.

If in this configuration a dual/emergency power supply is reccommended too, can please anyone help me in the selection of a suitable System.

Also I would be very greatful for a short Explanation how such Systems work. Though I read the description for example the Opti Power Guard, I don´t get reallye smart with this.

Thanks in advance for all tips

Roland

Hello,

we recommend connections where at least two cables are supplying power to the unit/servos.
This mean not dual power supply (two different supplies such) but just two cables, which usually two ESCs have.

Some Guard is for sure better but not necessary. It is recommended for 700 helicopters. If your helicopter can pass our BEC tester, then it should work well.

Hello Tomas,

thank You very much for the quick Response.

It is no Problem, to plug the second supply cable from the Align BL 100 BEC to AUX2 on the Spirit Pro.

In this case, at least another, hopefully last question:

My Graupner GR16 Receiver is powersupplied over the SUMD Cable out of the Spirit Pro RUD Output. If I want an additional powersupply of the Receiver too, is it better to plug the second supply cable of the BEC into port 1 of the Receiver and connect the Receiver then to AUX2 on the Spirit?
Or shall I work with an Y Cable to AUX2 on Spirit and Port 1 on GR16?

Thanks in advance and hopefully a nice evening

With best regards
Roland

I recommend to connect both BEC cables to the unit. For example to AUX2 and CH0.
But both ways will work, but receiver has nearly no consumption, so it is better closer to the servos.
