Post subject:  Question about spectrum DSM2/X connections.

I am using a spectrum AR6210 receiver in DSM2/X mode.

I found this info in the forum for connections in PWM mode.

And this info in the Spirit manual.

The PWM connections appear to be different than the DSM2/X. I had intended to use the AR6210 satellite alone, but I think I have to use both the receiver and the satellite. Is the wiring diagram for DSM2/X the same as PWM mode? I assume I connect the primary receiver to the side port of the Spirit. But I am not sure how to connect the secondary satellite receiver to the Spirit, as well the other connections. Embarrassingly I am confused. Could anyone provide a wiring diagram please?

I thought I posted this question before, but apparently I didn't. Excuse me if I am in error. Thanks and have nice day.

Hello,

PWM and DSM connections are very different.

PWM is using cables where all signals are transmitted separately.
DSM is digital connection where all signals are transmitted over signle line.
You can connect 1-2 satellites. But receiver such as AR6210 is not satellite and is not compatible with this connection type.

If you want to use satellites, you have to connect it according the Spektrum DSM connection scheme.
One satellite will be connected to the primary, other to the secondary port (optional) - for smaller Spirit you will need the Spektrum adapter. Throttle is connected to the AUX port. And that is all :)

I found this video from Jmann841! on the forum showing the wiring using older software in the DSMX configuration. (below)

The connections from the Setup Wizard show: (below)

The AR6210 is a DSMX receiver, and I am using the DX8 radio, channel outputs shown below:
DX8 channels
1. Throttle
2. Aileron
3. Elevator
4. Rudder
5. Gear
6. Aux1
7. Aux2
8. Aux3
I think my wiring using a DX8 should look like the screenshot below…but I am not sure where the AILE,
ELE, GEAR, AUX1 connect. Can you help please? Thanks for your patience and assistance.

Hello,

if you will be using Spektrum satellites, then there is no AILE, ELE, GEAR or AUX1, because you are not using AR6210 at all.

As shown in the Spektrum satellite scheme in the manual and software, you can see that RUD port in the unit is used for the secondary satellite (optional) with usage of Spektrum adapter.
AUX port is used for the ESC.

CH1,2,3,4 are used for servos. How to connect the servos is shown in the software when you will start the Setup wizard.
When you will start the Setup wizard, you can see there everything from satellite connection to the servo connection and more.

Actually photos that you have posted from the setup wizard are describing how to connect both receiver and servos - these are important steps.

Channels are configured automatically with this connection, so you do not have to set them at all.
