Hello Tomas,

For my modified Blade 300 I'm using Emax and Bluebird Servos for the swash plate.
Both types are specified for 250 Hz. Unfortunately the Spirit fbl offers only 200 and 333 Hz in the software.

Would it be a huge problem, to offer 250 and/or 270 Hz in the software as well?

Edit: At which frequency will a 250 Hz specified servo run, if 333 Hz is adjusted in the software?

Thanks in advance
Kluftinger

Hello,

even if servos are rated for a higher frequency it is not always good to set the highest possible.
I recommend to set 200Hz for swashplate for sure.

You could try 333Hz for tail but if you will notice a warm temperature after a flight I recommend to set it to 200Hz too.
50Hz will not make a noticeable difference. It is possible that you will not notice a difference between 200 and 333Hz.

Thank you for the response.

I have set the swash plate servos to 200 Hz and they work fine so far.

As a tail servo the Blue Bird BMS-22HV was not holding well at 200 or 333 Hz.
Therefor my question for 250 Hz to run them in spec.
The servo never got hot during all the trials.

I tried to tweek gyro gain, rudder delay and rudder dynamic, but the best case was a 2-3 mm wobbeling per side of the tail with a low frequency. With the best adjustment I changed to a Align DS455 tail servo and everything was perfect.

One idea from a friend is still open:
What happens, if the Blue Bird servo runs on 50Hz. Some Savöx typs have to be on such a low frequency.
Just last trial for a low-budget tail servo.

When you set 50Hz even if the servo can run at 200Hz then you will see very noticeable difference in performance.

Unfortunately setting 250Hz because manufacturer state it as the highest frequency will not help with performance.
If it will not work well at 200Hz it will not work well at any other frequency. 250Hz is quite atypical for this reason it is not listed in our software, but frequency is only small part of what is responsible for good performance.
Can you let me know where you have found it is rated for 250Hz?

Good servo will work well even with bad settings. Bad servo might not work well even after weeks of tuning.

I highly do not recommend to get older savox/align servos such as 247 and similar or any servo where you can't see it is stated as "Coreless". There is very big difference between micro servos. For example if you will get some older Savox servo and MKS DS95i or similar the performance will be so remarkable it will be flying as a very different model. This is apprarent on both cyclic and rudder.

Your bluebird servo has quite good specification so it should work well too.

It is written on the manual in the box and on the http://www.blue-bird-model.com/news_detail/15.htm website of the manufacturer Blue Bird.

Yes, due the good specification I want to use it as a low-budget vs. the KST ds215mg v3
