Post subject:  [SOLVED]-Trex 760x Setup Inquiry

I have a Spirit Pro system installed in my Trex 760x which needs to be test flown. To be honest, the 760 has been waiting around to be test flown for 6 months

Anyhoot, having never flown a Spirit Pro system, I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations for settings that I could double check before the first flight? The heli is setup for low head speed with a Xnova 300kv motor which means the rotor rpm will be somewhere around 1100.

Any information would be most appreciated!

Here is the setup:
760x
Spirit Pro
HW 130a V4
Xnova 4035 300kv
Jeti REX 10

Hello,

I highly recommend to verify (at least 3 times) that all compensations are working properly.
This mean if the swashplate is responding in the right direction during model movement.

Also it is good to verify if all stick inputs are moving in the right direction.

During lift off it is not recommended to move with the sticks. The swashplate must be in the horizontal position at that moment.

Then it will work well. If you will observe any elevator movement during hovering, then you can play with Advanced/Elevator Filter.

ZeXx86,

Thank you for the reply and tips.

I have indeed verified that everything is moving in the correct direction so everything should be good to go.

Looks like it is time to give it a go: fingers crossed

Much appreciated!

:D Hello, welcome and have no doubt, that you'll enjoy this fabulous and (state of the art) FBL. As long you got the correctly swashplate compensation and also stick input, it will be smooth as silk at the first hover. Got my fifth spirit installed last week on my logo 700 and guess; every one was so impressive with the first hover. Just to remind that, at mid stick it will play up a bit, but that is Spirit typical behaviour. Once again welcome into Spirit Armada.
Cheers

I just got the first test flight in on the Trex 760 and it was a very short flight.

When I lifted off, I had to hold almost 50% right rudder to keep the heli from spinning. One other thing I noticed is every time I turn the system on, I have to go in and reverse channel 4 which is the rudder: it always starts up opposite from what was saved last. I am not sure why but I will look into it in more detail later today.

Since this was the first time using the Spirit, I am not too worried about the little things right now as I can easily tell myself this was a user setup issue

Hopefully, the second go will be a little longer flight.

Cheers!

Hello,

your rudder is in the Normal mode which is not good for flying.
You have to set Head Lock. This is indicated in the Diagnostic tab.
Did you configured a Rudder Gain?

You have to save the settings in the unit otherwise all changes will always return back to the previous configuration.

Thank you for the reply.

I will go in and check the system today as I am sure it is something that I have done wrong.

When I make a change, reverse the servo, I am doing that through the Jeti transmitter via the device explorer. If I click "OK", after making the change, shouldn't that save the setting?

Thanks!

So,

I went back into the transmitter and reversed the tail servo, channel 4, but the save did not hold. Apparently, any changes I try and make through the Jeti TX do not hold once I exit the Spirit menu under device explorer.

Any idea why the changes are not saved?

Thanks

The settings will be saved only if you will press the "Save Settings" label and confirm.
If you will switch to a different bank and not change the settings it will revert back as well.

So it is basically same as with computer software, but there are more notifications so pilot can't forget to really save it.

What does this "save settings" label look like inside of the Jeti transmitter? I do not have that inside of the Spirit FBL within the device explorer.

All I have are a Back, wrench symbol, two arrows pointing opposite directions, cmd, and Ok button.. I do not have a SAVE SETTINGS button within the transmitter!!!!!!
